RUSH eStore has enabled a feature that allows Merchants to easily expand or reduce the radius kilometer coverage via the Content Management System. This feature directly affects end-users as it determines whether a customer's address is serviceable or not.
Log-in to the RUSH CMS to check the current radius kilometer coverage set for your store.
- Go to E-Store module.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Look for Radius.
If you are availing the services of our logistic partners to fulfill your orders, here are some things you need to consider to configure the radius kilometer coverage and delivery fees.
What is a Radius?
Radius is the distance from the center of a circle to a point on the circle.
RUSH uses the coordinates (longitude and latititude) from Google. Your branch or store will always be the center.
In the illustration below, we use SM North Edsa as the center. Extending the radius to 6KM coverage will make areas like (N) Sauyo, (E) Ateneo De Manila University, (W) Caloocan City Hall, and (S) Robinson's Magnolia serviceable. These areas are all considered to be within the set radius kilometer coverage.
Road Distance and Delivery Fees
While Radius Kilometer Coverage identifies the serviceable areas of your store, the Road Distance varies based on the actual route taken by the rider fulfilling the delivery. Hence, the Delivery Fee for every transaction is unique because it is determined by the road distance covered and not by radius kilometer coverage.
Pro-tip: To keep the Delivery Fee within expected Cost per Delivery of your store, reduce the Radius Kilometer Coverage approximately by 30% - 40% of desired coverage as a leeway for Distance Covered.
